About the restaurant

Wynwood’s Dutch hotspot may be known for its fried chicken, but the burger is one not to be missed. The Royale with cheese (cue Pulp Fiction quotes) is made with two 3-ounce, dry-aged brisket patties, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickles, and secret sauce. Pro tip: during happy hour and every Tuesday from open to close, snag this burger with a side of fries for just $10. The Royale with cheese is the right size to make you satisfied without feeling like you overdid it.

About the restaurant

This family-owned new American-style restaurant located in MiMo is easy to miss if you’re not looking, but one visit and you’re bound to be back. The menu features rotating dishes inspired by what’s in season, but the one menu item that never changes is the Pinch burger. This incredible patty is made using a custom burger blend, Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and a healthy smear of aioli served on a freshly made brioche bun.

We haven’t been to Pinch in a year and a half. The menu has changed as they don’t offer the gourmet entrees they used to have. They are now catering more to the neighborhood. I understand but maybe as a special they can bring back a dish or two. Either way, they always serve great tasting food and good portions.

MiMo / Upper East Side
About the restaurant

Blue Collar is a comfort food staple with menu items like chicken parm, saucy brisket with seasonal veggies, and larger than life slices of homemade cakes. And no comfort food-filled menu is complete without a killer burger. At Blue Collar, the real juicy cheeseburger seems simple and straight to the point, but it’s served on a Portuguese muffin making it a bit more fun. Piled on top of the New York strip steak burger blend is cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion.

About the restaurant

One of Matt Kushner’s many Miami restaurants, the frita (a Cuban-style burger) was voted one of the best burgers in the country. What makes this burger special is the patty blend that is half chorizo. The frita is topped with guava jelly, potato stix, bacon, Swiss cheese, and LoKal sauce that’s all pressed and toasted on a flat top.

Was fun and quirky place. Nice selection of craft beers. Burgers, fries and section of draft beers were good. Better to stick to basic burger choices. Also tried the gator bites which were surprisingly good. Service was very slow for a 1:30 lunch on a Monday, with reservations. Getting the table was the only speedy part.

About the restaurant

Once upon a time, Derrick Turton was Grammy-winner Pitbull’s manager, but he left the world of music to pursue his passion for cooking. It worked: House of Mac started as a food truck back in 2014 and now has multiple brick & mortar locations. This restaurant is known for its mac and cheese-obsessed menu, which extends to the burger. It’s named after Turton’s father, Keith, and topped with mac and cheese, turkey bacon, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle mayo on a toasted and buttered kaiser roll.

About the restaurant

Picture a classic gastropub with big screen televisions playing every major game and happy hour specials that keep diners coming back for more. Naturally, any proper sports bar is bound to have a solid burger on its menu, and here it’s called the Batch Attack. This brisket and short rib burger is topped with pecan-whiskey candied bacon, “B1” aioli, a mac attack croqueta, cherrywood-smoked cheddar, and bourbon-caramelized onions, all served with a side of truffle fries.

We went for brunch, and the ambience was exactly what we were looking for, it was football Sunday, and the staff, starting from Kurt to Geo were nothing short of amazing. But the food could definitely use an update on their menu.

Excellent burgers, noisy environment in a noisy neighborhood so it was expected, a large selection of local and imported beers. If you want to look at people and tourists doing their thing in a trendy area, this is your place, if you like burgers, this is your place. A fast and attentive service completes your experience. Music was loud so your conversation needs to match the volume.

About the restaurant

Every great burger list has to have at least one super craveable veggie burger. On this list, you’ll find it at Lido Bayside Grill at the Standard. The burger here is served with vegan pepper jack, veganaise, lettuce, tomato, and onions on a sesame bun and served with fries. It’s vegan, gluten free, and truly delicious.

About the restaurant

Tucked in Sunset Harbour is Diya, an Indian fusion spot with a fully vegan menu. Menu items include rich flavorful dishes such as dumplings, paneer, and masala. Those who are looking for something a little more out of the box can make their way into the secret backroom, conveniently called BackRoom, where they’ll find an eggplant burger that’s covered in vegan cheese sauce and barbecue sauce. The eggplant patty is fried in a seasoned chickpea flour and placed on a toasted Sullivan Street Bakery bun with lettuce, tomato, and onions.

Reviews are pretty representative actually....place is somewhat hit or miss. Johnny the server was very personable and attentive as was the hostess. Food was somewhat inconsistent to be honest. Started out with the Gobi Manchurian and the Dumplings, both were good (Gobi was actually fantastic!), but then both my wife and I were somewhat disappointed with entrees that both of us should have thoroughly enjoyed (me - eggplant barta/her - mushroom stuffed peppers) both were just too curry forward and the flavors of the underlying veggies were simply overpowered rather than enhanced by the spices. Our non-vegan 14-year-old boy ordered the cheeseburger dosas, and while he wasn't impressed....both my wife and I were, as we enjoyed that plate very much!
