Around the corner from the Fine Arts Theater in downtown Asheville, Limones Restaurant provides an inspirational mix of Mexican and Californian cuisine along with inventive bar selections served by a warm, professional staff. Long before working and training under some of San Francisco’s most talented chefs, Hugo Ramirez was raised on the intense and varied flavors native to his hometown of Mexico City. In fact, he still calls on his mother for the secrets of traditional Mexican dishes, which he reinvents in innovative and surprising ways. At Limones, Hugo’s love of Mexican food is combined with his training in french-influenced California cuisine.

Top three restaurant in Asheville in my opinion. Food and drinks are great, the service is friendly and professional, the ambience is very enjoyable. Will be coming back!

Stunningly delicious entrees and flavors all around. It was dreamy on a rainy night in the front window - a top spot for a romantic dinner. Our waitress was awesome as well. Highly recommend.

The Lamb loin was amazing and the portion was generous. Margaritas were great as always. Our waiter was great. Very attentive and offered descriptions of the dishes we asked about. Very pleasant experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Limones. One of our guests is originally from Mexico. He had high praise for the restaurant saying that this was the best Mexican food he has had anywhere besides San Francisco.

Sat at the bar. Had lobster nachos, Short rib enchiladas and Chimichurri shrimp and grits. Everything was excellent. It’s the one restaurant we always go to while in Asheville!

Dry chicken wings, stale chicharrones, bizarre lamb dish with curry and mushy eggplant. It’s been a while since we’ve been here and we don’t see going back anytime soon. Food was just not great at all.

This has been our go to spot for any occasion, including a reliable night out, for 10 years. Cocktails, ceviche, duck or scallops if they’re on. Nobody cooks scallops like Limone’s, and I mean anywhere, not just locally. Can’t go wrong really, always great service, and outstanding food.
