We made reservations for Christmas Eve dinner. Arrived on time and instead of being seated in the dining room were seated in a cramped section of the bar. The guy at the bar behind us was so close that my wife had to move her chair so he could leave. The server was nice but not organized. It took a while to order our meal but the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The plates were outrageously overpriced for both the quality and quantity. We ordered crab cakes as an appetizer for $30. Two crabcakes about the size of a half dollar coin and some (slaw?) garnishment. They were very tasty but for $15 a piece they were scandously overpriced. I ordered scallops for $52 and received exactly three, slightly undercooked scallops with about a cup of noodles in a broth. That was it. No vegetables, no salad, no bread or roll, nothing. We're very unhappy with our experience and won't ever go again. We had heard that the place was not inexpensive, no problem there, but the value was not even close to making it worthwhile. I don't mind paying good money for a quality meal. This was just a naked attempt to improve profit margins by presenting the least amount of food at the most the market would bear. And, being stuffed into the bar instead of being seated in the dining room sucked extra bad. Poorly done, Lighthouse Bar & Grill.

It was better than we could have imagined. From the specialty cocktails to the Coho salmon and halibut to a delicious pistachio cheesecake, at a cozy table for two by the fireplace, it was a perfect date night.

My wife and I went to the Lighthouse Bar & Grill for our anniversary dinner. We don't eat as much as we used to and had soup and salad. The french onion soup tasted as if fresh wine had been added just recently which stood out rather than blending with the rest of the soup. The clam chowder was better but was too salty. We each had a caesar salad which was over dressed, however, the ingredients seemed quite good. While the location and ambience is quite nice we will probably try this restaurant again in a few years to see if it improved.

The dining environment is very nice (and home-like).......... Our waiter was good and he let us know that he was recently hired and was learning. The my wife's Halibut & Chips was excellent, but the Beef Dip was overwhelmed with way too much mayo, mustard, cheese and onions. Beef Dip is meant to be dipped in the "Au Jus" so you can taste the "BEEF"!! The Beef Dip Served was more like a Phili Cheese Steak! Andre

No mention online that the dining room is not open for lunch any longer. This was a special Xmas lunch and we had to eat in the small zero ambiance bar. Very limited and expensive menu, blah caesar salad with tough chicken. Very disappointed in our much anticipated lunch that we never would have booked in a bar! Won’t be back and the Hotel needs to let customers know clearly that they will not be dining for lunch in the lovely restaurant.

We all had the daily specials - salmon/halibut/pork chops - and they all were excellent. Great pleasant service. The holiday decor makes it extra special with all the beautiful trees throughout.

Thanksgiving Dinner at the Lighthouse Bar & Grill at the Hotel Bellwether was terrible. Overpriced and not worth the $120.00 plus automatic 20% tip. A meal at a fast food restaurant would have been better. First, they converted a nice restaurant space into a dining hall to maximize the number of people that could eat at one time. The stuffing was dry. The salmon was dry. the Roast Beef was undercooked and of poor quality. The Turkey? They made sure they scraped every piece of meat off the poor bird, and all they could give you were little chunks of tasteless meat. Salads were good. Deserts were from Costco we think.

This is our second time at the Lighthouse Grill Thanksgiving Buffett. The first visit was much better. There were less choices (no crab this time), and the turkey was doled out in small pieces rather than slices. The piece of roast beef was very tough. The price seems to be the only thing that increased. The service and ambiance however were well above most Bellingham restaurants. I would definitely recommend the Lighthouse Grill for their normal lunch and dinner menus.

There was just my wife and I, so I guess due to just 2 people, we were seated behind a wall with little or no view in a room that had nothing but tables and chairs. While the buffet was good, where we were seated was a long walk to the buffet area, passing lots of other seats that had nice views and better setting. Obviously, we could have been seated in a better place since there were open tables we passed on our way to the buffet. The cost of the meal was over $100.00 per person and was certainly not worth the cost. We decided after the meal that we will most likely not do a Thanksgiving dinner buffet at this location in the future.
