Lechon is a South American dining experience that seamlessly combines the fiery cooking of Argentina, Chile and Patagonia, along with creative inspiration of the chef. Enjoy perfectly charred 28-day dry-aged ribeye, grilled octopus with chorizo, housemade piquillo pepper and pork empanadas, slow roasted lechon, refreshing ceviches and smoked bone marrow.

Executive Chef Jaco Smith consistently pushes the boundaries on traditional Latin fare by incorporating wood-fired flavors into his cuisine while boasting a view of the Willamette River that few Portland restaurants can offer. Smith comes from a large family of cattle, sheep and grain farmers. He started cooking at a young age in his mother’s kitchen. His favorite childhood memories include the tastes of dulce de leche, flan and grilled breads, reminiscent of South American flavors and commonly found on South African kitchen tables.

                                                                    Food was on point and they had the bottle of Malbec that I requested when I originally set the reservation. The brisket empanadas are by far one of the best empanadas I’ve eaten, and I’m a mexican from Los Angeles. Although, I do have to modify the chimichurri I’m served to have that authentic Argentine flavor. This is one of my new favorite go-to spots when I visit Portland every three weeks.

                                                                    Each dish brought out just got better and better! The service was so friendly and the servers were patient and knowledgeable. Our last dish took a little longer to come out so they brought us a spice infused wine that aids in digestion that they comped. It was such a nice treat!

                                                                    Great ambiance, great service. Plating and presentation were great. The quality of the menu was hit or miss. The sauce on the beef dish tasted a lot more like Heinz 57 than a fresh sauce and took away from the entire experience.

                                                                    Our food was delicious! I have nothing to complain there. Service wise it felt like we weren’t the waiter’s priority. It was my birthday and I stated that on our reservation and nothing special was really done to celebrate my birthday. Overall I would still come back because the food was delicious

We did the chefs special tasting menu and everything came out amazing and with an explanation of what was being served. Cocktails and NA Cocktails were also amazing and went very well with the food. We will be coming back again!

                                                                    We had a great New Year’s Eve dinner at LeChon. Everything was delicious! The special menu was perfectly curated including the bubbles! Each plate arrived perfectly timed. The vibe was fun but not loud. The chef came out to each table to check in which was a nice touch. We will definitely be back!
