We are a family owned business located in the centre of York by the River Ouse. Our bar and bistro has gained a reputation for a wide range of beers and spirits coupled with an excellent selection of wines and champagnes. Close to The Grand Opera House and city centre, Plonkers is an ideal place to meet with friends or colleagues for a relaxed drink.Weekends at Plonkers can have a party atmosphere where you can relax after work with friends. Upstairs seats approximately 26 but we can cater for buffets for around 40 people with some standing.     Fantastic experience from start to finish. We booked so we could enjoy a Sunday roast whilst we are visiting York for the long weekend with our son. The food was exceptional and the service was amazing. Fantastic portions, loved the cauliflower cheese my fave. You all get your own side dish of veg, plus extra gravy. My son scored it 12/10 for the meal, wee took a breather between the desert, choclate brownie and ice cream. Washed down with a beautiful bottle of malbec and a couple pints of Guinness. We will definitely be back on our next trip to York. Faultless

    Absolutely amazing, the service was the best I’ve ever received & the food was outstanding. Even so the owner came round and chatted to us and every guests, we had a chat about Brazilian footballer Anthony too, will definitely be back, first time there and we dine out 2/3 times weekly but that was superior.

    Another great visit, the restaurant was busy but the atmosphere was great. Pancakes were gorgeous and the service was perfect. The menu is so varied so something to please everyone!

    Honestly, I wish we'd found this place sooner! I do miss Chinese cuisine since becoming vegan, so I was ridiculously excited to try this place. The food was beyond amazing! My omni Husband said it's some of the best food he's ever had! So much choice, super friendly staff, great atmosphere and gorgeous food! Can't wait to go back!
