From building society, to bank, to BEAR – this ornate old banking hall site on Derby’s Iron Gate stood empty and forgotten for 9 long years… until we came along.BEAR Iron Gate, Derby sits slap-bang in the centre of the city’s iconic and beautiful Cathedral Quarter; the original hotspot for high-quality food and drink. The structure is traditional but the Decor is very, very modern. Excellent as always, nothing too much trouble for the staff and always pleasant and attentive. Food was excellent, we had the 9 course tasting menu which was wonderfully amended to suit my wife's intolerances. Every course was a delight. Has to be one of the best restaurants, if not THE Best, in Derby. While it remains this good we will continue to return.
