The staff and ambiance as always were welcoming and helpful. The Oysters were so fresh and delicious, as were the langoustines. I had the famous fish & chips which never disappoints and my wife had the Dover Sole which she really enjoyed. We can’t recommend this place enough

Lovely lunch prior to meeting with the wedding coordinator all 3 mains lovely ( the parmesan and truffle fries are sublime) Don't leave without trying the Tempus Sundae, and make sure you visit the toilets - quirkiest toilets around.

They must be doing something right being my third visit, but first special occasion. However, I am still not disappointed at the service offered and, as expected, satisfied. Well done!

If you’re thinking of visiting the French quarter you won’t be disappointed, this is our favourite restaurant in Newcastle! The staff are very friendly and helpful to make sure you get the best experience, great atmosphere and the food is outstanding! This was our third visit and it’s been superb all three times! I highly recommend the French quarter to anyone, especially anyone looking for the best French restaurant! Already looking forward to our next visit. Thanks again!

We received a voucher for Blackfriars for Christmas. Booking was easy online. We arrived slightly early but our table was ready. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived and enjoyed the background music. Service was very good and we asked if we could mix and match between the menu’s and they said it was fine to do that. We ordered the fish platter to share which was really nice. I ordered the fillet steak, it was perfectly cooked to the way I like it and the chips were amazing, I ordered the beef dripping jus which was delicious. My husband ordered the corn fed chicken, again this was delicious. We had no room for desert so can’t comment on that. My husband also had the larger brewed onsite which he said was very nice. Only fault I would say is they put a service charge of 10% on your bill but it is explained it is not mandatory. Definitely will be back.
