Chef Eugenia Hobson and her team prepare authentic Greek dishes served attentively in a breezy Aegean-inspired atmosphere. Our signature dishes include the grilled octopus, the kolokithokeftedes (stuffed zucchini fritters), the lavraki whole fish (branzino) filleted table side, and the arni giouvetsi (lamb shank with orzo). Hamrock's Restaurant is located within the Moore-McCandlish House (built 1842) in the heart of historic Fairfax City. We've been proud to serve delicious made-to-order American dishes using fresh ingredients since our establishment in 2016. We also have a wonderful hand-selected wine list to enhance your dining experience. Approximately eighty-percent of our menu is-- or can be-- gluten-free, as we use only canola and olive oil in all of our cooking. Some of our best-selling dishes are our southern fried chicken, grilled meatloaf, and crab cakes-- all which are gluten free! Other menu favorites include our deviled eggs, firecracker shrimp, Atlantic grilled salmon, roasted pork tenderloin, and penne pasta with andouille sausage & shrimp. We have beautiful year-round outdoor seating options on our wrap around porch (we have heaters!) In the warmer months, we also open our courtyard. We're also more than happy to accommodate business dinners or other special occasions in private rooms.

    Again the Wine House was a wonderful dining experience. The server was super friendly and I think she brought us our drinks in about 2 minutes. All four of us were more than pleased with the quality of our entrees. The Wine House has always been one of our favorite restaurants because of its quality and atmosphere.

    We were celebrating a birthday and this restaurant was just perfect. The ambiance was inviting and the staff were top notch. Professional yet unobtrusive. Michael was our server and he was great. Knowledgable and friendly. We will definitely be back for another dining experience. PS: the complementary birthday dessert was very tasty!

    This is a nice restaurant; however, service was not particularly attentive, one of us didn't get the meal they ordered, and almost everything in every dish had WAY TOO MUCH pepper in it to be truly enjoyable. A true shame because the overall quality of the food, otherwise, was quite good. Generous portions for each of the 4 dishes we ordered. Nice presentation. Just too much pepper.

    Whitley was phenomenal! She was the only server, but handled a party of 14 like a pro! Food was good! Kudos to the chef who was by himself, as well! Well done!
