Montesacro is the first “Pinseria Romana” in the United States. Bodega SF is an evolution of Matthew Ho’s family's restaurant, Bodega Bistro, which operated from 2003-2017 out of San Francisco’s Tenderloin District, serving traditional Northern Vietnamese cuisine. The brand’s success continued as Ho organized pop-up events, eventually transitioning to meal packages throughout the pandemic to meet demand.     The location of this area is located in a very raw part of San Francisco surrounded by a major homeless population. The hotel is a bit old and rundown, but the rooftop and the ambience was gorgeous. However, the service was extremely slow. We waited roughly 25 minutes for our order to be taken

    It was great the place makes you feel like you are somewhere in Europe minus being in one of the worst places in town 6th street but I guess that adds to the adventure. The staff was great and the food was very good being that it was a limited menu being that it was Valentine’s Day.

    Live Jazz music upstairs on a Thursday night - so fun! Great food and service and music - excellent cocktails, steaks, chicken Milanese and broiled halibut. Our party of 10 were well taken care of by the entire staff! Awesome vibe in a historic venue that can’t be duplicated - join the Dashiell Hammett Society! Love this place and will return.

    Omg, the smoked Old Fashioned drinks. Jose at the bar is a maestro. The pastas - pesto, carbonara, bucatini….the lamb chops….the pannacotta and the tiramisu - all over the top. The ambience is “old San Francisco” and connotes the spirit of the 1930s - a gorgeous combination for comfort and ease. Highly recommend.
