- CChrisvipLondon •13 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoI had a business dinner to organize, so I asked London area friends what they would suggest in the Paddington area. Ayllu was consistently recommended, much to my surprise. I had gone here over 3 years ago and remember enjoying a fairly standard but good sushi. Paddington has been undergoing a lot of changes, so I had heard, and I expected to see many new hipsterish places with old guard ones shuttering. While this is true of the area, Ayllu is still going strong. The sushi is excellent. The fare is standard. Other dishes are excellent and all fairly traditional Japanese food I was especially excited to get a some of the South American dishes like ceviches. The place was crowded, even on a Wed night. So, if you want to get authentic, traditional, delicious Japanese/South American food that is a little nicer than a noodle shop, go here! My friends did not steer me wrong. Oh, and the prices are amazing, considering what you get (maybe about $50 per person excluding alcohol).More infoAylluPrice: Moderate• Japanese• Paddington•4

The food was excellent with a range of selections from fresh salads to calamari. The eggs Benedict was fluffy and delicious and the parmigiana exceptional. The atmosphere was superb with a lovely DJ playing some real good vibes. The waitstaff were very accommodating. They left us alone to talk amongst ourselves but were also attentive and swift with our orders. I hope it's not appropriate of me to say -- they were all very attractive too! Great restaurant in Paddington, especially if you like to take a walk by the canal after brunch.More infoSmith's Bar & GrillPrice: Moderate• British• Paddington•4.2

Food: The selection of Mezze was very good. The main course — shish touk was good. The mixed grill is not recommended, it was dry and overcooked.
