Entering the Saloon, a family owned restaurant since it opened in 1967 is a bit like stepping into Philadelphia's past. Dark oak paneling, shiny brass and authentic local antiques create a warm congenial and casual atmosphere. The choice of two comfortable dining rooms each with its own vintage bars make dining and conversation a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Both bars feature a delicious and moderately priced food menu. The menu is Italian with seafood specials such as grilled octopus and dover sole. Saloon steaks and veal chops are legendary. Many prefer a plate of fried long hot peppers to compliment the steaks. All desserts and gelatos are made on the premises daily.     Food was excellent. Wife's gluten free pizza was outstanding. Many nice places to sit with good street views. Unfortunately, our seat was by the entrance and wife got great views of the toilet 20' away through the open bathroom door. People coming and going leaving the seat down or up. Kind of a yucky thought as you're eating. Can't "unsee" it from where she sat. $3 for a can of soda is disappointing.

    Went for a birthday celebration and Twisted Tail did not disappoint! Food and drinks were excellent. Service was very attentive. After dinner, the music upstairs was fun! Will be back soon!

    This was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The dishes are so beautifully composed and presented. The service was impeccable and the staff was super knowledgable about all potential allergens and ingredients. Just perfection. It didn’t hurt that my favorite movies were playing on the big screen. The “crab” cakes and broccoli are must-have dishes.
