Restaurants near Singletary Lake State Park

I just had anniversary dinner there. Lamb gnocchi and my wife had braised short rib. Started off with fried Brussels sprouts as an appetizer. Ended with an espresso mousse with whipped cream in a coffee cup (I enjoyed the pun on that), and my wife had tiramisu. Everything was phenomenal! The chef wasn’t there, but the sous chef did a great job! I highly recommend!

Only one complaint- Hostesses were below standards for this fantastic restaurant. We got there at 5 for a 5:30 reservation. We were told to sit in bar or in bench until then- not pleasantly at all. We sat in car until 5:25 and came back in and they were seating walk ins? Poor organization and bad overall attitude to welcome patrons. However our servers and food were fantastic!!! We will return at exactly our reservation time!! Overall it was a perfect dinner for my 82md Birthday!!!

You can’t forget Michael’ ultra deep voice. His level of service was phenomenal. He went out of his way to make us all feel he genuinely cared that we were happy. While I wasn’t overly happy with basically charred beyond recognition Porterhouse for 2 that arrived to the table sliced in cubes?? I managed to muster the courage to eat it so as not to bring a negativity to my 70th birthday celebration at Ruth’s Chris, something I had been doing for the last 45 years. It was probably the single worst Porterhouse steak I’ve ever eaten. Looked like the chef got busy and make left it in too long, not to the point of being consumed by the flames but darn close enough to ruin the flavor with The burnt bone running through it. Having it pre-cubed for me was a first and something I will ensure never happens again. However, Michael our server and host couldn’t have been more delightful to work with. He is a valuable asset to your team.

Dean and his team were highly welcoming, kind, courteous, and caring. Each and every employee had a joyous-type demeanor that made us feel happy to be there. The food was DELICIOUS! The fruit plate and coffee cake muffins to start were perfect; not too heavy and tasty... especially that honey and sumac yogurt! The main brunch courses exceeded expectations. As southerners who moved north, I cannot tell you how much we miss a good biscuit and some flavorful grits... they nailed both perfectly. My fried catfish was almost melting in my mouth. All around, a wonderful and elevated meal that was served by staff that genuinely cared; and experience that made us feel like we were home.

Staff from start to finish was excellent. One of the best gems in Wilmington.
