Restaurants near Sherman Library and Gardens

Went to Tommy’s with girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. We were pleased to see the new comfortable chairs. However, the menu was disappointing for us because two of our favorites were missing. We often enjoy the filet mignon tacos and the plantains. Both are no longer available. Three of us had the fish tacos, which were good, but instead of three they’re only two now. Having chips is not merely as nice as the plants. If cost cutting was behind the missing fillet tacos, which were very popular and the plants that were popular as well, I would rather have seen an increase in price on the menu. All of our food was good, but we were disappointed.

We ordered the short ribs as the main course, which we have never had Rothschild’s before. I was worried because short rib recipes are often too rich for me. But it was excellent, very flavorful but not rich. In retrospect, I should not have worried because Rothchild’s always does such a good job and whatever they touch. The garlic bread and Caesar salad were excellent as always.

We enjoyed our delicious lunch in the beautiful Sherman Gardens at 608 Dahlia. I would suggest smaller servings of the entree salads and quiche lunch entree. The are large enough to share.

This was the first time that we had dinner at CDM. Outstanding experience. We’re currently living in Utah, but will make a special effort to visit CDM on our next visit in December.
