Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

Everything was great, especially served by Mr. Nicolas and Ms Nitch. The food was good.. I was sitting at the counter and seeing all the action. Then I realized that people who hosting, sitting and hanging coats (it means contacting all peoples) after come back to behind to kitchen area to cut the breads without gloves then serve to people… (it means no washing hands, I did follow up their movements). I was so surprised more like shocked. I couldn’t mention at that moment. I thought it could not or shouldn’t happen if it’s in COVID time…I guess it’s ok now? or let me ask other websites opinions. Google, TripAdvisor and Tock ?

The food was stellar! Each course a master class in the indigenous and trade route history of Mexico. The flavors danced, and flirted, and then married into deliciousness on the tongue. I cannot tell you all the courses. Though I did get a lovely gift of the evening's menu, so perhaps I will later amend this for a description of each. It is unlikely you will ever get this specific menu again. It had been a long time since my last prix fixe chef's menu. Especially one this large And then adding the wine flight. The wine flight was perfectly paired and delicious. It brought very fresh fruit flavors and deeper Pinot Noir roundness to absolutely delicious food. I might suggest pacing oneself better than I did. I was a tad inebriated. Then again it was our anniversary, so why not? Come enjoy this the moment you can. It is a treasure of warmth and comfort, as well as quite informative. They explain each dish's origins as they serve you. But come for the food. It is transcendent!!

Fantastic service as usual. We have been here a few times and love the food and atmosphere. This time we hosted our company holiday party in the private dining room which provided privacy but we could still hear the live jazz music outside. I cannot express enough the great service we receive every time we go and how this place is like a hidden family owned gem. We will definitely return soon!
