Bedford’s beautifully-landscaped Embankment has wonderful views out over the River Great Ouse. The Embankment Hotel was built in 1891 and we renovated it to reflect its late-Victorian heyday, but with all the modern comforts and facilities of a great pub.     Lovely candlelit dining room with rustic charm and great food. Not pretentious they just doing everything really well for people that like good food and drink. The evening farmers menu was really good. It’s not often you come away from a restaurant these days where you cannot fault a thing. Just about to rebook for Sunday lunch :) Absolutely spot on.

    I've reviewed Ember several times. I have dined there over 20 times since they opened. I love it. The food is innovative, interesting and always delicious. The decor, ambiance, customer service - all second to none. The small plates dining experience enables us to share and sample all kinds of different dishes. Seeing the chefs cook over open fire ....Highly recommended.

    The place was magnificent perfect for Valentines Night. Dome was nice and cozy it was magical experience. Outstanding service. But food wasn’t so great I had expected better quality and taste. Some of the my husband chicken was burned there were out of steaks bit disappointing. The food is the most important at the restaurant. We aren’t going back there.
