Originally from Mexico City, Chef Fernando Olea, formerly Chef of Epazote, has been enthralling diners in Santa Fe since 1991. Chef Olea creates sophisticated flavors using Old Mexico’s indigenous and culinary traditions alongside ingredients from around the world. His menu is deliberately small, featuring fresh and locally sourced produce and meats when possible.Nothing evokes the mystery of Mexican cuisine more than mole, a sauce of complex flavors that usually includes toasted and ground spices, seeds, nuts, chocolate and chile. Many mole recipes contain more than thirty ingredients and some recipes have five varieties of chile alone. Chef Olea is delighted to share his moles that include his "New Mexican Mole" that he created to commemorate Santa Fe’s 400 year anniversary in 2009. The large mural in the main dining room, was painted and presented to Chef Olea by Federico Leon De La Vega, a well- known artist from Mexico City.

Second time at Geronimo and it was just as fantastic as I remembered it 6 years ago. Best high end restaurant in Santa Fe. The staff are all so polite and nice. The food flavorful and inventive! I had the green miso sea bass with noodles and it was probably one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long while!! It sounded so simple but it was bursting with a range of incredible flavors. My husband got the pork shank and was equally impressed. The meat was tender and so delicious. If you can score a reservation, it is worth every penny. Perfect spot for a special occasion or nice date night.

We have looked forward to dining here for years! The food was amazing! From the corn bread, to the butternut squash soup, the mussels posole, the aglonotti with smoked apricot, and the dessert empanadas. Every bite was a delight! The service was impeccable, so attentive friendly and helpful. A member of our party had some dietary restrictions and they were so accommodating allowing her to have the same elevated experience! Just fabulous!

Everything about this restaurant was perfect. We had a cocktail at the bar, made according to our taste by Gerardo - perfect. Then on to the cozy dining room. Alycia was an amazing server - expertly explaining our options, describing the dishes and drink pairings and working with the kitchen to manage the flow of our 9 course degustacion menu. She was the perfect mix of friendly and professional. Each of the courses was absolutely delicious and some dishes just mind blowing in the best possible way....the first course dessert was a symphony of flavors that you would never think to put together but Chef Olea worked his magic. Other standouts were the Sopa de Amor (another artful mix of flavors), the colossal white shrimp and the pork belly with roasted corn tortillas. And the front reception, kitchen and floor staff worked seamlessly (and unobtrusively) together - perfect.

Exceptional dinner at La Boca on Wednesday evening...food was absolutely delicious, and I could not have recommended any adjustments. That evening, we enjoyed the Manchego Frito, Spanish Mushroom Soup, and Paella Classica...all were excellent...delivered to the table fresh and hot. Service was friendly, engaging, not obtrusive...nearly perfect. Even on a chilly Wednesday night, the Marcy Street dining room was packed and energetic bordering on noisy. At times it is difficult to engage in muted conversation, but the crowd was enthusiastic and talkative. Highly recommended!

This is one of the top restaurants in Santa Fe. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, and the kitchen is very skilled. We often bring out-of-town friends here when they are looking for something other than traditional New Mexican food.
