The late Rocco Diorio was responsible for the fine traditional food and many lasting memories for most of the people in the greater Waterbury area. The restaurant was closed in 1980 and reopened in 1991 after total restoration to its original splendor. The legend continues as we remain true to those endearing memories. We have the original marble bar, over-sized mahogany bankers booths, tin ceiling, and the most impressive acid-etched mirrors displaying historical Waterbury.     New Mill has always been our favorite. The decoration's were absolutely gorgeous for the holiday season. I was a bit disappointed in our server. He was not attentive and did not come back to see how our dinner was. I had to have someone find him. A bit arrogant too. Certainly not the norm but hopefully New Mill will see this without naming anyone's name they know who he is. We've been going here for years and their servers have been just wonderful! Their Pork Chop among other incredible dishes is our favorite and the portions are very generous. Can't wait to go back to my favorite restaurant!! Anonymous

    Sat in the loft area, which is our favorite section because it is much quieter & a cozy corner. Food was excellent as always. I had the seafood pasta, which had a generous amount of seafood & a light sauce. My husband had steak which was large & cooked just how he liked it. Service was excellent! Been here several times & will be back again because everything is consistently good!

    No wait. Reservation was on time. Peroni on tap my favorite beer! Service was impeccable. Food was spectacular, great fried calamari, large delicious portions. Desert was amazing, served with a piping hot cappuccino. Plenty of parking. Great dining experience! I highly recommend IL Gusto
