Dining Experience: I visited Lawry's The Prime Rib with my parents on the evening of the 28th at 4 PM. This review reflects my personal impressions of the meal and service. Reservation Deposit ($25 per person): A $25 deposit per person is required when making a reservation, but it’s applied directly to the final bill, which feels fair and ensures a secure booking. Salad Service ($0): The salad service was complimentary, but it came with a unique presentation, much like a small performance. It reminded me of the noodle-pulling show at Hai Di Lao, adding a touch of fun to the meal. Lobster Bisque ($15): The lobster bisque was elegantly presented. The soup was poured from a small pot into a bowl that already held fresh lobster meat. The flavor was rich, and dipping the pre-dinner bread into it was a delightful touch. Lawry Cut Classic Medium-Rare ($66): The 10-ounce classic Lawry cut steak, cooked medium-rare, was incredibly tender and juicy. The portion size was generous, making it perfect for sharing among three people. The mashed potatoes served on the side had a traditional and comforting taste. Lobster Trio ($65): The three lobster tails were exceptionally fresh, with tender and firm meat. A squeeze of lemon enhanced the flavor beautifully. The server highly recommended pairing it with melted butter, and it truly elevated the dish. Creamed Spinach ($9): The creamed spinach was average in taste. It’s worth trying, but it didn’t stand out. Creamed Corn ($9): This dish was sweet, flavorful, and satisfying. Every bite was rich and indulgent—definitely a must-try! English Trifle ($12): The English trifle left a strong first impression with its vibrant flavors, though it leaned on the sweeter side, which might be a bit overwhelming for those who prefer less sugary desserts. Descanso was a delight. We opted for regular dining (versus la plancha) and the food was fresh, hot and delicious. It arrived family style, which is what we requested. The plates were much more interesting beyond the usual taquerita offerings. We split two apps, a carnitas entree and a Coco tres leche cake that was amazing! Our waiter (whose name escapes me, but he wore glasses) was attentive, friendly and informative and was right on the ball while we were there. We had told him that we were off to the El Rey to see a show after dinner, and he made sure that we were ready to go in plenty of time without rushing us. Would definitely dine with them again!

Dinner before the show. The weekly routine. Always finding new stuff on the menu at Fanny’s. The cheese board is my new favorite thing. Three cheeses and warm toast, honey and other goodies. Tonight I ordered a side of salmon and it was delicious. We the the s’mores for dessert and it was a lot of fun and yummy. Their desserts are elaborate and beautiful in presentation and taste great!

One of the best culinary values in town, Meyers Manx Cafe in the Peterson Museum offers both incredible tasting food and a diverse menu at great prices. I LOVE the breakfast burrito here. The runny egg and crispy potatoes are what makes this burrito unique and delicious. I also love the chopped Italian and pizza here. Our waiter told us they use a Japanese tapioca flour that produces a New York-styled thin crust taste along with a crispy chewy texture. Incredible!

Wonderful salads, & the staff is nice & most accommodating. I’ve been eating here a long time—glad the pizzas are back! xo
