Located right in the heart of the town's High Street and Citadel, The George Grill is the restaurant of The George in Rye, one of the finest hotels on the South coast. Our head chef, Oscar, offers you a classic British Grill menu combining his love of charcoal cooking with a Latin twist. The Grill is a firm local favourite and celebrates the best of ingredients and suppliers in the area. At the heart of the kitchen is a wood-charcoal grill, where our kitchen team roast seafood landed that day from fishermen based in Rye Harbour. We also serve Romney Marsh lamb, Aberdeen Angus grass-fed beef and seasonal vegetables from our farmer based in Boughton Monchelsea. Lovingly restored and renovated, this Grade II listed bolt-hole offers a welcoming retreat for design lovers and foodies alike.

A 17th Century former smugglers haunt-- this is a pretty little pub in a lovely marshland setting with tables and benches on the front terrace and in the back alongside the riverbank. Inside it's very easygoing and chatty. We happened on this restaurant by chance and am very pleased we were able to secure a reservation. Lovely location right on the harbour with gorgeous views. The restaurant is designed brilliantly so all guests get to enjoy the view. The staff made us feel exceptionally welcome from the beginning. We had our young son with us and everyone made a real fuss off him which immediately put us at ease. Very attentive staff, delicious food and wine. Great menu for children also! Restaurant had such a lovely relaxed vibe. If you love seafood it’s a must. Will definitely be returning.

Superb choice for my 80th Birthday celebration. The chef even added an additional Happy Birthday desert. Having filmed numerous Food programmes for ITV, the whole team offer a highly professional service and take a great pride. Its a great example that no matter where the rural location is, if the ambience, food quality and staff, customers will always go the extra mile.
