Restaurants near Isaac Stout House

I brought my friend for her first visit to the Marblehead Chowder House and she loved it. We're making plans to come back!

First time at the restaurant. Made reservations through Open Table. Service was very, very good. Many times, we were checked on and promptly our orders were taken. I had the duck, and my wife had tuna. Excellent courses and the desert was really good. Creme Brule. I will definitely come back to this restaurant. The windows looking over the river and city were great part of the 7th floor experience.

The View at Morgan Hill is almost a 10/10. The food is exceptional and the price point is more affordable than most restaurants. Gabby was our server. She was kind, polite, patient and informative. I advise that if someone orders a bottle of wine that the wine is opened tableside and a taste is poured for the guest that ordered the bottle. We had the mushroom tart and shrimp bisque with the cotton candy bomb and espresso/strawberry martini. Outstanding. Then we had the filet MR and the veal osso busco with a bottle of Ocnautic Cabernet. Again outstanding. We ended with chocolate cake with hot tea and coffee. They provided complimentary prosecco. This was a Valentine’s Day date. They sat us near the fireplace which was warm and cozy. Ask to sit elsewhere if you do not want to smell like campfire for the rest of the night lol. We did not mind it one bit and found it romantic. The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for on Valentine’s Day. We got the Fig Toasts and shared a bowl of lobster stew (1/4 of lobster!). We Highly recommend both. I got the Boursin Filet. I would probably choose medium over medium rare next time but, it was still delicious with the Demi-Glacé and Boursin. She got the ‘Will you Marry Me’ Chicken which was topped with lumped crab meat. We were very happy with the food and service! We would return in the future for dinner or to try out their brunch menu.

Service was a little slow which isn't the norm and our sever was very apologetic. Food was amazing as usual. We started with the baked oysters, which were decadent and full of flavor. I had the Chilean sea bass (perfectly cooked and oh, so, buttery) and my husband had the duck two ways. Absolutely no room for dessert, you get a lot of food!
