Chinya was founded in 1880 as a restaurant in Asakusa, Tokyo. Since its opening, Chinya's sukiyaki has been dedicated to and explored, and is first served with meat covered with the aroma of Senju leek. Afterwards, the sukiyaki is enjoyed to its fullest in a slightly sweetened wariroshi sauce with "zakku", an ingredient we are particular about. The course offers an aperitif and appetisers that allow you to taste the four seasons, and we offer not only sukiyaki but also shabu-shabu courses. The restaurant's speciality, "suitable sashi meat" (trademark registered), refers to "moderately marbled meat" that is not excessively sashi. The fat of Wagyu female cattle fattened up to a sufficient age (30 months), with a grade 4 fat content and good fat melting, produces a 'Wagyu aroma' at the border between the sashi and the lean meat when heated. In addition to the aroma, the taste of the lean meat and the sweetness of the fat are well balanced, and by maturing the beef further, sukiyaki can be achieved without stomach upset and with a good aroma. We invite you to enjoy sukiyaki, one of Japan's most popular food cultures, at Asakusa for everyday meals, anniversaries, gatherings and other occasions.「ちんや」は、1880年(明治13年)に、東京・浅草の地に料理屋として創業。

In 1971, the original Hard Rock Cafe was established in London. Well known for its “Love All, Serve All” policy and “All Is One” mentality, this restaurant that stated pure soul was the appearance of the theme restaurant that carried out as a momentum of weakening class society of Europe. From interior, logo, food, service, and even staff uniform was filled to the charm, which smashed the common sense of the very conventional restaurant, and it held the fans captive from across the world. As in other countries, the Hard Rock Cafes in Japan allow you to enjoy American home-style cooking while Rock & Roll fills the restaurant all around you. In addition, Memorabilia such as guitars, outfits, gold disks, and autographed posters from famous musicians decorate the walls. The LOGO T-shirt with a city name sold only to the person who visited the store of the city became a well renowned hot-selling product. “People” magazine raved about the Hard Rock Cafe as the “Smithsonian of Rock & Roll.”

Very expensive, but then its Kobe Steak. Spartan private cubicle each, excellent service. Ordered al la cart- 400g ribeye about$350……ordered nigiri , one rice, one fries , 3 glasses wine….. bill about$500 We felt the wine was a small amount, and the “veg “ that we paid extra for was absurdly small.. It was all about the experience of eating Kobe steak and we loved it as it was a very special occasion.

I had a ten hour connection in Tokyo so I went into the city for sushi. Takaya was a terrific choice. Delicious fresh fish combined with a friendly relaxed attitude. I was a bit apprehensive about dining alone, but the chef made me feel welcome, and I had fun chatting with him. Tip: the seats at the far right side of the counter have a direct view of the chef preparing sushi, which was fascinating.

Was so great to return to Fukuzushi after not being back in Japan since 2019. While they’ve moved to a newer and smaller location, felt it was more intimate than years past, and the quality of sushi, friendliness of chef and his wife, made it so welcoming and familiar again. Reminded me why I used to frequent the restaurant years ago. Looking forward to returning again in my future trips to Tokyo.
