Restaurants near Glasgow University Library

As always: the service is great, the place is wonderful, the food magnificent. My roast beef was cooked to perfection, thick slices of a great cut of meat, paired with a very enjoyable Malbec; my daughter had the sirloin and it was, quite simply, delicious (what little I was able to wrest from her). We will always return and I wholeheartedly recommend The Butchershop

Food was excellent! We were sat downstairs which was a bit more intimate than upstairs. Service very speedy and excellent. Although when booking it says table is for 1.5 hours, when seated we were told it would only be for an hour, now don't get me wrong food was out very quick and still was better than other steak places, but had we had a starter, would we have been kicked out? We only just finished mains and a desert within the hour🤷‍♀️ this should have been stated at time of booking. But also an hour doesn't really seem enough if you want to relax and take your time on your 3 courses. All the servers were excellent and could not fault anything else.

I eat here every couple of months. The food is always excellent - I have never had a dish that was not delicious. The size of the restaurant means that the service is always good and eating there feels more like a family meal that a commercial experience.

Both my husband and I had a wonderful meal . The haggis starter dish was so tasty and quite filling. Additionally, the Cullen Skink soup was out of this world...thick with fish. The fish and chips was fresh and flaky. The Venison was prepared to perfection...a thick rich sauce with tender chucks of meat. It was the most enjoyable meal in Glasgow. The wait staff was friendly very accommodating. A must for anyone who wants to experience traditional Scottish food at its best.

Server was excellent. Food amazing. Celebration dinner for my daughter graduating and it did not disappoint!
