When visiting the restaurant, patrons descend 18 feet underground in a canopied glass elevator, accessed from street level, for a culinary experience unlike any other. The American Steakhouse offers an expansive 1,800 square foot subterranean courtyard allowing patrons to dine al fresco and enjoy a New Orleans-inspired exterior space. This cool oasis is complete with a 20 foot, 5-tiered granite water wall, multi-tiered landscaping, lava rock fire pit, and black granite bar. Dakota's below-ground patio has long been considered one of the city's most romantic dining spots. We believe the best steaks come from the best cut and quality. That’s why we get all of our beef fresh from renowned beef purveyors, Allen Brothers. Each cut is corn and grain fed USDA Prime steak that our chef handpicks. Each steak is aged for a minimum of 28 days for a perfectly tender, juicy bite every time.It is our goal to give you a great meal every time you join us for lunch or dinner.

Campisi's Downtown is owned and operated by David Campisi and his family. The restaurant has a long and storied history, beginning in 1946 when David's great-grandfather bought a bar with a small kitchen and began making pizzas - the first ever in Dallas. Today, Campisi's Downtown still makes its famous pizza (you can even build your own if you like), and also serves up a huge array of pasta dishes, salads, appetizers and entrées. For dessert, try the tiramisu or Italian cream cake. There's something for every taste at Campisi's downtown, so bring the family and enjoy delicious beef, veal, chicken and seafood dishes (and pizza!) all made in the traditional Italian style.

This place is amazing! We discovered it one evening when we were looking for dessert and coffee. We had a Dulce le leche crepe that night that we’ll be talking about for a long time. Tonight we went back for dinner, and we were even more impressed. He had a steak, and I had sea bass. Both were superb, but very few restaurants can cook fish as well as this one! We added puréed potatoes and the “half portion” grilled vegetables which was beyond generous. (Also beyond delicious.) Sarah T was our server both nights, and we hope to see her again and again!

I chose Dakota’s for my wife’s birthday celebration for its unique way to enter the restaurant. It is a single elevator in the middle of downtown leading to an incognito underground restaurant. This alone gave very speakeasy and clandestine vibes. The hostess was very pleasant and the flourish sounds from the live piano music made for a very tranquil environment. We were sat in a corner and noticed rose petals on the table as well as a birthday card from the restaurant. (I had mentioned it was for a birthday celebration at reservation time). Our server, named Abby, was very friendly and her recommendations for dinner choices were exactly what we were looking for. My wife ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the Wellington. Both choices were cooked to perfection. My wife loves wedge salads and the avocado drizzle made a very much improvement to the way it’s normally made. Abby was also very thorough in her service and made us feel very welcomed as it was our first time dining there. The end of the meal was made more special with a slice of birthday cake and a lit candle. I highly recommend this restaurant and Abby.

So our reservation was at 9 and we got there before 9 and got seated at 930. No complaints as there is an observatory area you can sit and wait at. They get a bit busy, and because it's such a great vibe a few people tend to linger at their table a lot longer than expected. Service was great, and the food was fantastic. This is our second time going and plan to go back again soon
