Restaurants near Flag Ponds Park

The restaurant is busy which is good. Our table was too close to another table and the person seated near the “aisle’ continually had her chair kicked by staff and patrons trying to get between her and the person behind her. That does not make for a pleasant dining experience. The noise level was very high so everyone had to raise their voices to be heard. Having music playing at that time was pointless and added to the noise level. I had a side salad which was boring as not much on it but lettuce and a few cucumbers. The blue cheese dressing was bland as well with few chucks of cheese. The fish tacos were good with a generous portion of fish. My husband had the lasagna which was good and a generous portion. The server may have checked on us once and we had to ask to have our water glasses filled.

Food and drinks were good while server was very pleasant attentive.

Wow, as advertised, great host, server, manager!!!! The food we ordered was all superb!!! Crab cake to start, wife ordered the meatloaf, I had the short rib stroganoff. We had reservations and thankful we thought ahead, the 1330 lunch rush was visible on the weekend. I ordered a bloody mary, only portion of the meal which I thought lacked attention. Manager passed by the table and was very nice!!! Thank you for the Carrot cake, it was phenomenal. Highly would recommend and glad we came!!!

Evan was simply amazing! He served us well and got our orders to the tee!

La Vela is always a winner in our book. Indoors, outdoors, or sitting at the bar are all different, but equally satisfying experience. Don't miss this hidden gem on Solomon's Island!!
