Café Berlin has been serving authentic German cuisine on Capitol Hill since 1985. It occupies the ground floor of three townhouses whose front yards serve as Biergarten for outdoor dining. The interior features a small bar and two cozy dining rooms. The restaurant is located within a short walking distance of Union Station and the U.S. Capitol. It draws politicians, congressional staffer, and tourists as well a loyal following of neighborhood residents.     Food was so amazingly good, from the roasted cauliflower to the tender and flavorful steak. The service was friendly and helpful, modifying the chef's menu for our vegetarian with shellfish allergy guest. And the overall enviroment was warm, welcoming, and cozy. My only complaint is that the experience is so good that no one wants to leave their tables! Like a great family dinner. Thank you

    This is far and away the best restaurant in Union market even set up against all of the Starrs (intended); if you really enjoy seafood then I would proffer best in the city. The dry aged salmon rounded out one of my best meals to date. This immediately became my neighborhood goto.

    Wow, as advertised, great host, server, manager!!!! The food we ordered was all superb!!! Crab cake to start, wife ordered the meatloaf, I had the short rib stroganoff. We had reservations and thankful we thought ahead, the 1330 lunch rush was visible on the weekend. I ordered a bloody mary, only portion of the meal which I thought lacked attention. Manager passed by the table and was very nice!!! Thank you for the Carrot cake, it was phenomenal. Highly would recommend and glad we came!!!

    Outstanding!!! I celebrated my birthday here with friends and this was our first time dining here. We love the artistic vibes and the food was incredible. We all were blown away! Amazing service too…Brenda and others were so attentive and took great care with our allergies and dietary restrictions. Bravo, Bravo! I can’t wait to return!!💕
