The Winding Stair Bookshop & Café became a famous Dublin landmark in the 1970s and 1980s. Named after the Yeats poem and in honour of its winding staircase, it is overlooking the river Liffey, with an iconic view of the Ha'penny bridge. As a popular meeting place for writers, musicians and artists, it was a well known hub for debate and creativity with many poems written, novels penned and movies shot within its walls. In 2006, Elaine Murphy brought this much-loved spot back to life as a restaurant, championing seasonal, Irish produce. The bookshop, located on the ground floor, was retained, as were many of the old bookshelves, photos and memories. The room retains its timeless charm with stripped wood tables and floors, and Bentwood café chairs. The view remains as quintessentially Dublin as ever. The food is good, old-fashioned home cooking, with produce sourced from artisans within the island. Drink sare local and international craft beers & wines from stellar producers.

Best restaurant I have been to so far in Ireland. I had booked the terrace for the nice views. Spectacular views especially during the evening. Was a bit too chilly even with the heating provided. However we were provided with blankets to cover up. The service was exceptional, food came fast, tasted good as well. Just the steak wasn’t hot enough but still tasted good. A bit costly but I would say worth the experience.

Mackenzie's is a really nice restaurant in an interesting location at Grand Canal Dock and close to the Bord Gais Theatre, which was what took two of us there. The menu is not terribly exciting but the cooking was excellent and the food well presented. Good wine, beer and cocktail list. Best of all was the service: efficent, friendly and helpful.

We arrived and it was buzzing get vibes. Down stairs was full got seat up stairs. Have to say it was just lovely. Great atmosphere lovely painting on walls and saying just great vibes. The staff so friendly each and everyone of them. The food was excellent and the fast serves and food hot when served. Their own hot sauce yum yum. The desert were fab and they brought my sisters with a candle and sang happy birthday it was just fab. Can’t say a bad thing about this place 1 st time and will be going back when every in dublin. Highly recommend 10/10. The place was buzzing and it’s was loud but we could hear each other talk and not what the people on table next to us were talking about.

We had a wonderful meal here on a very damp cold Dublin night. Dishes were very tasty. Huge wine selection. No draught beers but lots of choice in bottles. A little pricey but not vastly dissimilar from more commercial restaurants, with a significantly higher quality. Staff were professional and attentive. A lovely evening all round!
