The George hotel is a beautiful 400 year old hotel, currently only used as a restaurant. Taken over in 2020, the restaurant is tastefully decorated, adourning wonderful photos of chepstow through the years. The menu boasts an array of fabulous dishes, from the traditional 'pub grub' with our 2 for £16 menu, to our in house dry aged Steaks, cooked to perfection by our chefs or brought out to you on our signature sizzling hot stones. On a Saturday evening, the restaurant comes alive with wonderful live music, starting off with a relaxed vibe whilst you finish off your meal, and a livelier second half to finish off your evening. Finish the week here on a sunday, where we have fast become the place to come for a sunday lunch, with rave reviews and recommendations across the board.     Excellent service from start to finish. I booked a table for my twin daughters’ birthday. We were taken to the best table booth in the house. Our waiter explained the menu very well. The decor is outstanding and the food even more so. We had the 3 courses from the lunch menu and it was a lot of food and excellent value for money. Our bill was £120 for 3 adults that included drinks ie Bellini’s etc and the twins ordered desserts from the a la carte menu. I would highly recommend. Plus it was Christmas Eve so it was even more delightfully decorated than usually. We even had special Ivy Xmas crackers which we could take home. Plus the manager brought out a special dessert of lilac and mango ice creams…it was exceptional and we shall definitely be coming again! Highly recommended.
