The George Public House is a Victorian reincarnation of a 15th century coffee house located at the meeting point of the Strand and Fleet Street, directly facing the spectacular architecture of the Royal Courts of Justice and a 10 minute walk from the West End. In the Autumn of 2014, The George underwent an extensive and considerate refurbishment of the ground floor bar and first floor dining room. Very enjoyable and high quality pre theatre 3 course set meal. Bit of a shame we had to specifically ask for the menu we'd booked, and the £2pp cover charge should really be in the price. But food was extremely nice and service exemplary.

Have to say very expensive for what we had, but then again it’s London prices 🤷‍♂️. Service was very good, our table wasn’t great as I spent all dinner facing and looking at the main waiter area behind the kitchen. This branch of the chain seem to lack and form of atmosphere

The George was very accommodating with our large group and made it so we have plenty of rooms, the drinks on tap were large and varied and the starter were perfect to entertain our a American friends!

My friends and I had an enjoyable midweek lunch and the service we received was very good. The meal selection was rather restricted as we were told on arrival that several items weren’t available but luckily we had sufficient choice as it turned out. The overall cost was reasonable and our experience was certainly pleasant enough to encourage us to return.
