Restaurants near Casa La Hacienda

The food was fantastic. We also tried two alcoholic drinks; they were fine but nothing special. The only thing we felt could improve was the habanero chili sauce. It didn’t have any spice at all, which was surprising. As a museum meant to preserve Yucatecan gastronomy, the sauces should reflect the true flavors, including the expected heat. None of the salsas were spicy, and even we, who rarely eat spicy food, could finish them without a problem. The food was excellent overall, but the sauces could be more authentic to the traditional flavors.

Wonderful discovery of Yucatecan ingredients and cooking. The four of us had favorite but we loved all 12 dishes from starters to desserts! Aguachile of seasonal fruits and calamari tartar with pine nut, spinach and chili sauces were high on mine.

We had an excellent breakfast here: bacon eggs benny, poblano-cheese-egg dish, cappuchinos. Waiters were cordial and attentive. Seating under the umbrellas outside provides fascinating people-watching. Slightly higher prices than we prefer to pay for breakfast, but the meal was worth it, and that's Calle 47! Highly recommend this restaurant.
