In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. My husband and I went there to celebrate our anniversary. Austin was our server and was absolutely fantastic. His recommendations were spot on for both food and wine. Attentive but not intrusive, he was exactly what I would expect at a place the level of a Perry's. The overall experience was well worth the expense. Our food was amazing! I ordered the sirloin sampler flight and the A-5 Wagyu was DEVINE. I swear, each bite melted in my mouth. Unfortunately, not a place I can afford for our weekly date nights, definitely for special occasions though.

The food was fantastic—really fresh and an overall great experience. However, I wish they hadn’t begun cleaning and closing the restaurant two hours before closing time. It made us feel rushed during our meal, especially when they started sweeping under our tables. Despite this minor inconvenience, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely be returning.

Perfection. Server was amazing and attentive. He was very happy, great energy from our waiter. We loved that it was busy tonight, but organized. We also enjoy Christmas Eve because it so festive here and we love seeing Santa. Food was hot, delicious. Merry Christmas!
