It all started in 1992, when Annette and Gerner Andresen opened the Lighthouse Café in Sausalito in its present form. The Andresens, both born in Denmark, had recently immigrated to the U.S., and along with them they brought the Scandinavian flair for simplicity, good quality and tasty food. The café has over the years become famous for its breakfast and lunch, with American classics like good old-fashioned burgers and a great selection of omelets, along with Scandinavian classics like Danish Meatballs or Norwegian Salmon.     Our meal at Poggio was wonderful. One thing I would recommend is adding an outside option to the reservation, if people will be sitting outside. We were sat outside, and this wasn’t presented as an option when I made the reservation - if it was, I wouldn’t have selected it. This was a bit frustrating, and we did wait 15 minutes to be greeted at our table. Thankfully, our server totally made up for the lack of professionalism. Mike was excellent. He had great recommendations, and was incredibly attentive during our meal. The food was truly some of the best food we have ever eaten. I got the crab pasta, and my friend got the spinach pillow pasta with the beef ragu sauce. Both were delicious, with very deep flavor profiles. We got the lemon meringue and chocolate cake dessert. Overall, the food was incredible. I would absolutely come back, but I would request to be inside and hope for Mike to be our server again!

    It was amazing manager came out and  great recommendations, which I’m glad I listened to him… also gave us his business card and said he would take care of us next time overall I’ll leave my top five sushi places I’ve been to. Great quality as well.

    The ambiance is extraordinary. You are seated in a roof top glass garden overlooking the world, with a breathtaking view of the mount Tamalpais . The service was impeccable. The server, Toby, was exceptionally welcoming and courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, with the food being of exceptional quality and the service being outstanding. We will certainly be back.
