Restaurants near Brandywine Battlefield

We had a cozy Christmas lunch here after a morning visit to Longwood Gardens. What a special place! The service was outstanding and all our dishes were delicious. The gnocchi al fromaggio brie and arancini were perfect, the risotto porcini was a table favorite, and the salads were fresh and flavorful. This has become an instant favorite. I can't wait to come back to try the bruschetta and maybe not stuff myself so I can get dessert. Lots of vegetarian options, too!!

Christmas Even dinner was wonderful. Food and staff and atmosphere were perfect.

I come to this restaurant whenever I am in the area and it never disappoints. The food is very good and nice size portions. The service is very good and was attentive even though they were busy. I tried something new this time and the gnocchi was very good and I have plenty for another meal or two. They also have fabulous desserts so make sure to save room. If you on Route 1 near Longwood Gardens, this is the place to go.

This was our first time at Letty’s Tavern. We had been to Longwood Gardens, in the pouring rain. We showed up to Letty’s early, the gal at the reception desk was so accommodating, got us a table. The server was excellent, I could not decide what wine I wanted; he graciously brought me two tastes, so I could decide. We had the cheese tray; it was delicious. My husband had the short rib; it melted in his mouth. I had the fish and chips. The fish was delicious and was just enough, sometimes places give you this ridiculously large piece that you can’t finish; the fries were double fried; excellent. We finished this meal by sharing a piece of tiramisu. Probably one of the best pieces of tiramisu I have tasted. A wonderful end to a very wet day! Will be making a trek back to Kennet Square just to go to Letty’s !

Paulette was a very good server. Food was good. Next time I will come in a different door!! Didn’t like walking through the bar.
