We went for our anniversary and the food was excellent! My husband had the filet mignon which was extremely tender almost melted in your mouth. Cooked perfectly medium rare. He had a baked potato which came out hot;as some places you never know what you will get. I had the special that evening which was the prime rib. It was very good. I chose the wasabi smashed potatoes, both meals came with asparagus. Since it was our anniversary we received a complimentary desert along with a free photo taken of us. Our waitress was amazing. 10 out of 10 if you are looking for a nice night to celebrate or just gather with friends.

This is hands down one of the best restaurants at Lake of the Ozarks. You will not regret the short ribs and jalapeño cheddar grits. Also they have the best bread rolls you’ll ever have. If you want to treat yourself and feel a little bit like you’re in the mountains, head out to Old Kinderhook!

Excellent food and service as always. Rick H was excellent server, he was very knowledgeable and responsive, but not overbearing. Only food item that was sub-par was the bread. The crust was so hard it was almost inedible. Everything else was done perfectly

This was our second visit to Kai. We dined here on a night when things were running slow, which was a little irritating, however they were apologetic and there was a mess up in the kitchen that delayed getting an entree and they made it right for us by offering a quick substitution and comping something for us. I am glad they recognized the error and did their best to correct it. The drinks and sushi were very good. I would come again, as I think we caught them on a night when things were abnormally behind.
