We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Feel the comforting rumble of trains passing overhead conjuring memories of some of our favourite haunts underneath the bridges in NYC - a place where, with the blinds rolled down and away from prying eyes, a decadent lunch can swiftly roll into dinner.

Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

    Awesome evening. Incredible food including possibly the best steak ever….🤔 I eat steak anywhere and everywhere around the world and i honestly believe this really was best ever.     We were group of 5, and had booked this place for dinner post electric shuffle and food was really outstanding. Such great flavours, the flavours in their tabbouli was just hands down best I had eaten ever ( despite it wasn’t authentic base of tabbouli using wheat but was made using brown rice & quinoa) and hummus was so nice and creamy. We had ordered almost everything that was vegetarian on menu- Za’atar flatbtead, hummus, fatteh pita chips, baked halloumi, sesame coated falafel, truffle patatas, tabbouleh grain chilli salad, flame baked cauliflower. Staff was really cordial, courteous & patient. I really wish & hope they open one more branch somewhere in central London or around liverpool street. I absolutely loved it & would highly recommend if you are out & about in canary wharf & want to eat mediterranean (lebanese) food.

    We visited with our baby to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Our waiter went above and beyond to give us a memorable experience, and was incredibly accommodating to meet all of our needs. His knowledge of the menu, and recommendations were spot on. The food was delicious, service was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble. Service from entry to leaving was wonderful from every member of staff we encountered.
