Based in Greetham, The Wheatsheaf is 6 miles from Oakham and 4 miles from Rutland Water. Carol and Scott took over the Wheatsheaf in March 2008. The seasonal Modern British menu changes weekly. The wine list is based on wines from around the world with a good selection by the glass. We also have an excellent selection of beers and local cask ales.In 2021 The Wheatsheaf was a new entry in The Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastro Pubs and was also awarded The Michelin Red Plate.     What a wonderful restaurant. A lovely welcome by Manager and staff. Fantastic meal and service. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Fantastic menu. From start to finish we both had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend the food and wine and beer here. We will definitely be back with friends.

    Our experience was so good that i made an account just to leave this review - The food was genuinely amazing, i’ve been really missing the food I had in Spain with my girlfriend and her family but Ole Ole made me feel like i was back in Denia - so much so that my girlfriend said she felt at home here. On top of this, the staff were so kind and helpful and everyone seemed to truly love their job and each other - it’s a family run restaurant and you really do get that homely feeling while you’re there. I had a lovely chat with the one of the Sons who work there (forget to get his name) but he was a really nice dude and seemed passionate about making the restaurant as good as it can be. I will definitely be back, I haven’t been here since they had a place on the bailgate years ago and I am kicking myself for not going back sooner!
