Restaurants near Auberge Couleurs de France

Nice setting, ok services, decent food. nothing terrible, nothing wows — initially they were going to put us to a table right next to the entrance to the downstairs bathroom. it’s 5:30 and the restaurant was not that full. when i asked to be seated other places, they did immediately find another much better table for us. Also I had to repeatedly ask them to refill our water. The $8 for bread and butter was nice but i am still surprised that a restaurant at this price level charges bread and butter. The appetizers are decent. beef decent, cauliflower decent. The cream puff with chocolate on top is nice. (bathroom is located a level down, with a dangerous sharp turn into stairs- i wonder if they ever had people fell off the stairs).

Our waiter Robert was great enjoyed the live music the hamburger is great but the French onion soup and filet minion was a slap 8/10

Dinner menu was not really exciting and would benefit from an update. Breakfast buffet is great with fresh items and good choices. Nice dining area with some excellent staff who really enjoy their work. The gentlemen who served us at breakfast was so helpful and friendly and attentive. The gentlemen who served us dinner was not in a good mood, look bored and obviously did not want to be there. My wife had the beetroot salad which was very good and the trout which was dull and uninspiring. I had the onion soup which was warm not hot, had too much cheese and hardly any liquid. The black cod was topped with Brussel sprouts - a much better choice would have been fennel and leeks. The menu is over priced but again the overhead is high and they have a captive audience.
