Restaurants near Amstel House Hostel

The restaurant is defined by its soaring ceiling and a stunning wall sculpture of painted wood, the Bacchanal. The food is WONDERFUL. Traditional German fare. I had the Guillardesu oysters as an appetizer. INCREDIBLE. The best in the world, accompanied by a perfect vodka martini. My wife and I shared the Christmas goose dish. Most of it was absolutely delicious, except some portions of the goose were overcooked. More focus by the chef is required here to ensure the entire portion is juicy. Service was attentive and warm.

The food was stunning (rib eye), home made drinks excellent and the view is amazing. My kids and I loved every bit of it.

It was my first visit to FFisch and I truly enjoyed it. While it’s a nice restaurant, it’s casual and not pretentious. The staff were very accommodating. The starters were perfect, delish and super well-priced. The mains were good, but could be slightly improved: my “massive tagliatelle” was delicious, but a bit under-seasoned. Whereas my friend’s Bouillabaisse was tasty, but quite salty. From an ambience perspective, I loved the energetic vibe and positive atmosphere, however when people come into the restaurant, it does get a bit chaotic at the entrance with people coming in/out, paying, getting jackets etc. Still, overall a pleasant experience and I’ll definitely be back.
