Opening R Wine Bar & Kitchen in 2018, and Vespa Catering and Brix Wine Bar in 2022, they have created a culture of hospitality for guests who feel like family. Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and moved to Boston when he was 5-years-old. He stayed in the Boston area for college and attended Tufts University. Marybeth, born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD, moved to Boston to be a nanny and went to Somerville School of Nursing. The two met in Medford, MA, dated and became engaged in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard in 1996. Relocating to Sioux Falls, SD in 1999, Riccardo and Marybeth have developed a reputation for making people feel welcome with their three boys, Dante, Berent, and Jaxon. Together with their hand-picked team, Riccardo and Marybeth bring the best parts of hospitality to life in their restaurants, for both their staff and guests. When I was a child I grew up with my mother, grandmother and aunt. All of them were very good in the kitchen. They had different styles and they cooked every day. From ravioli, soup or patisserie, everything was made from scratch. Those ladies were my teachers. My first lesson was dishwashing, later it was helping as their assistant. To honor those amazing woman who helped me in my early days, I decided to open Tarquin to bring Sioux Falls our flavors, recipes and dishes. Tarquin is a piece of Buenos Aires in a remote corner of Sioux Falls commercial district. You are always going to be welcome here and we will always offer you our best.
