Restaurants near Allegro Chicago, a Kimpton Hotel

I have been eagerly trying to secure a reservation at Pizza Portofino for quite some time, and I was absolutely thrilled when I finally had the opportunity to dine there. From the moment I walked in, the restaurant's coastal ambiance immediately set the tone for a truly exceptional experience. The drinks were superb, and the food was nothing short of extraordinary. I highly recommend the whipped ricotta and fig bruschetta, the crispy parmesan fries, the meatballs, the black truffle and three cheese pizza, and the sausage and fennel pizza – though honestly, I believe you can't go wrong with any dish on the menu. While the food and drinks were phenomenal, what truly set this experience apart was the exceptional service. From the bartenders, who were so welcoming as we enjoyed a few cocktails while waiting for our table, to our attentive server, every member of the team exceeded expectations. However, it was the manager, Heather, who truly stood out. Her warmth and hospitality made us feel incredibly special, and she went above and beyond to ensure our experience was memorable.

We dined with family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner at Roanoke. We could not have been happier. The set menu still allowed diners to individually select drinks, appetizers, sides, the main dish (turkey and trimmings, salmon, steak), and dessert. Everything was delicious and well-seasoned. The wait staff was attentive. It was a packed house (because who cooks anymore?). We even ordered an extra plate to go (because leftovers are a must!). If Roanoke offers Thanksgiving dinner again, we will book it again!

After watching Chicago's Thanksgiving Day parade, our family went for our Turkey feast on Thanksgiving Day at River Roast. The Thanksgiving buffet menu had all delicious choices from salads, veggies, stuffing, turkey and desserts. Service was impeccable (Witche was our waitress, and thank her for the great service). The restaurant and location and views of the Chicago River were spectacular. Our family left feeling we definitely made the right choice in choosing River Roast for our Thanksgiving meal. We are looking forward to going back to River Roast in the summer to try their regular menu and enjoy the outdoor terrace.
