- AAshleyNebraska •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoI had the Caesar salad and the slow braised short ribs with roasted rainbow carrots and garlic mash potatoes. Salad was great but the slow braised short ribs had just enough sear to the outside to give a slight crunch plus added flavor and then the meat itself just fell apart…. DELICIOUS! The carrots had such a great roasted taste with sweetness from the carrot-cooked perfectly. Lastly, the mash potatoes were heaven, the butter the garlic flavor with the most smooth silky mashed potatoes I have ever had!! Thanks for a great anniversary dinner.More infoSon'z SteakhousePrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Kaanapali•4.6

This wasn’t that. Ulu Kitchen had an interesting menu and was expensive but not outrageously so, especially by Maui standards. We made a reservation an hour before and were seated at a table parallel to right the path separating the restaurant from the beach. Importantly we were elevated a few feet above and maybe 10 feet back so it felt very private. Super attentive service from Loran who had a great command of the menu. My wife and I split a main (surf and Turf Duo) pairing a 7oz filet with lobster ravioli, mashed potatoes, beans and a bit of salad. Spectacular especially the ravioli which are harder to find than a good steak. We ended up trying 3 appetizers : Tako Escargot which is bits of poached octopus prepared escargot style and served in an escargot tray. Superb. Also the Manila Clams - the broth was excellent and the clams tender and fresh. And finally the crab cakes which were average but served with a nicely green cream sauce with a little kick. We would go again tomorrow just to eat the ravioli. Nice ambience although it can get windy and there is live music from 5 different places going on in the background. But we thoroughly enjoyed ourselvesMore infoUlu Kitchen by MerrimanPrice: Expensive• Hawaii Regional Cuisine• Kaanapali•4.6
- SSuzvipPortland / Oregon •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe had a fabulous dinner to celebrate a birthday with friends at Roy’s! My husband had been to the original Maui location way back in the 80’s. We had the macadamia crusted ono, the filet, and the grilled Au- all superb! We shared chocolate ganache cake, chocolate toffee mousse cake and ice cream trio and wow! Perfect dinner!More infoRoy's - KaanapaliPrice: Expensive• Hawaii Regional Cuisine• Lahaina•4.3
