Behind an unmarked door adjacent to the wine room, guests are transported to District 1 (China Town) in Saigon via Blackhouse’s 28-seat restaurant-within-a-restaurant, LSXO. A spinoff of the Little Sister brand (Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach & Downtown Los Angeles), LSXO is love letter to the culture, heritage, and lineage of Vietnam (Vuong’s relatives hail from the region). While Little Sister is known for its French Vietnamese menu, LSXO follows the same Southeast Asian inspiration with a more refined feel. “There is no signage for LSXO—you can spot the entrance of it tucked into a section inside Bluegold, but you’ll have to know it’s there. While Bluegold is light, bright, and airy, LSXO is its darker, edgier little sister,” says Vuong. “Both restaurants operate out of the same kitchen, though the menus are completely different.     We were able to get a reservation for dining within 20 minutes of when we first looked at availability which allowed us to get there quick, with no waiting. We were able to get window table and were seated as soon as we arrived. Food was very good and service was exceptional. The noise level was higher than we prefer, but this is a very popular restaurant for larger groups, so the noise was not unexpected.

    Brought my parents and grandmother who were visiting from out of town. The service was incredible as always. The food was absolutely perfect. My family kept raving about how delicious everything tasted, especially the scallops and carrot cake. The atmosphere is great, no better place in HB to watch the sunset than at Lorea.

    One of my favorite spots in downtown HB. Met up with friends for Halloween dinner and drinks. 5 of 7 of us had never been before. All enjoyed their food and said they'd come back. Good service and friendly wait staff.
