La Masseria Restaurant is inspired from ancient fortified farmhouses that in the Puglia Region of Italy are called “Masseria”. Executive Chef/Co-Owner, Pino Coladonato, grew up on a Farm in Puglia. He was forced to eat whatever was available but soon was tired of bean puree and decided to take matters into his own hands, creating new ways to use the same few ingredients. Now, with limitless ingredients to choose from, fava beans, chickpeas and lentils are still a core element in many of his entrees. Interior Designer Libby Langdon has created a warm, inviting dining atmosphere. Rustic and relaxed, with plenty of old world charm. Oversize iron sconces custom made from antique wrought iron gates punctuate the walls, and artful displays of antique farm tools mixed with various authentic Italian photographs all add to the farmhouse appeal. The 250-bottle wine list encompasses all regions of Italy with few of the best American and the rest of the world.

We really enjoyed our dinner at La Masseria. The restaurant was small and charming. The staff was attentive and very helpful with selections. The wine list was well balanced with old world and new world wines by the glass and bottle. The food was prepared very well, although our octopus was just slightly over done. The braised rabbit was flavorful and tender. The risotto was creamy and al dente, just the way it should be. We also enjoyed a beautiful arugula salad that had crab and fresh corn. The combination of the peppery flavor of the greens with the sweetness of the crab and corn was very refreshing.

Appetizers had been prepared earlier in the day and thrown in the refrigerator to be pulled out for service. Mozzarella was ice cold and flavorless. Tuna carpaccio had zero flavor and was nearly icy. Wait staff seemed to be irritated at our very minor and normal requests.

Great atmosphere and attention to detail. The service was outstanding. The specials were excellent. Only issue was my pork chop being a bit overcooked.

I had big expectations about La Masseria, because of the reviews and the credit card request to confirm the reservation, the food is great, I can’t lie about it , but very bad service, our table was at the end of the restaurant, with very noisy kids around and other noisy families around, service was rude and not friendly at all I won’t go back again , despite having excellent food All Pasta dishes are great, also the scallopine al limone was great, But my experience with bad service doesn’t makes me visit again this place

Ronald and the staff did a great job servicing our party of 6. We had some folks that did not speak great English in our party but he was able to make sure all understood the specials and their dinner choices. The only down side was initially was our table placement ... as we were at the service door and our table was really backed into the other surrounding tables. We managed quite well after we got seated and had our first of several cocktails. Their veil special was fantastic! Regards, Rob
