We've been to LDV many times. The food was outstanding and we had very good service.

The service was very slow. It took a long time for the server to take our order, and then we had to wait a long time for the bill. Also, the chef is way too crazy about bell peppers. The potatoes that accompanied my omelet were overwhelmed by the amount of bell pepper, and there was a 2-inch piece of red bell pepper in my omelet that he hadn't bothered to cut up.

If you’re a man planning to visit La Dolce Vita in the summer, be aware: “Business Elegant” apparently means NO shorts, even if they’re nice dress shorts with a dressy shirt. Nowhere on their website does it clearly state this—just “Casual Elegance” on one page and “Business Elegant” on another, with the only explicit restriction being no hats. Meanwhile, women can walk in wearing barely-there skirts and thigh-high patent leather boots with no issue. To make it even more ridiculous, I watched a man be seated while wearing a T-shirt featuring a woman in a bikini on the back and velvet sweatpants. So much for dress code consistency. For an establishment trying so hard to be high-end, the manager was walking around in a crew-neck T-shirt, and the staff was all wearing sneakers. But somehow, nice dress shorts aren’t acceptable? Make it make sense. On top of that, valet parking is mandatory for $10, and if you don’t have cash, they’ll take your card—plus a sneaky processing fee they don’t mention upfront. The food is solid, but the place is wildly overpriced for what it is—an attempt at “high-end elegance” in the middle of 7 Mile. Drinks take forever, and the manager? Rude and entitled. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers.

My server name was Paige. Very warm and inviting & food was also very fresh. The only thing I didn’t like was the mandatory valet parking.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The second I stepped foot in this place, I was verbally harassed about my attire — meanwhile, people around me were in hoodies, sweaters, and women in short dresses without so much as a glance. The hypocrisy was laughable, but the incompetence was even worse. The food? Absolutely disgusting — I’ve had better meals at gas stations. The service? Nonexistent. The staff seemed more interested in playing dress code police than actually doing their jobs. This place is a masterclass in how to drive customers away. Save yourself the headache and avoid this sorry excuse for an establishment at all costs.

We were celebrating our 3rd anniversary and wanted to get dessert at the end of the evening. I had been to Dolce Vita years ago and remembered the beautiful ambience and high and service. This choice did not disappoint. Highly recommend the Limoncello cake.

It was so great to be back at the this Detroit gem. Make sure to ask for Carlos. He’s an excellent waiter with a mile high personality. He made me genuinely smile and laugh while enjoying my time out. He’s very knowledgeable about the menu as well.

I like this place the only problem was where they sat us the tables were too close to each other It seems there going after a romantic atmosphere but with the tables being that close to each other you couldn't have romantic conversation
