   We recently had the pleasure of dining at King’s Fish House in Long Beach, and it was an experience worth sharing! From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm that set the tone for the evening. Our waiter, Francisco, truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable meal. His attention to detail and genuine care for our dining experience was evident throughout the night. He not only kept our glasses full but also made sure our table was clear of any clutter. It was clear that he and his co-workers were well-trained and worked seamlessly as a team, making sure we had everything we needed without us even having to ask. One of the highlights of our visit was the tranquility of dining on a Monday night. The restaurant was pleasantly less crowded but had an abundance of attentive staff. This perfect combination allowed us to enjoy a leisurely meal, where we didn’t feel rushed and could savor the delightful seafood offerings. The menu at King’s Fish House is a seafood lover’s dream, with fresh catches and expertly prepared mouthwatering dishes. Every bite was a testament to the quality and freshness of the ingredients used. With each savory dish, it was apparent why this place had such a loyal following.    The King Fish is an excellent restaurant! The quality of the food is superb! Well-presented and delicious! Although a little pricy, it was worth it! Server was a bit slow in taking the food and beverage orders!

   The service was great. However, some of the food we had was tasteless. We ordered the crab cakes, for an appetizer, they were very bland. In addition, the seafood platter wasn’t seasoned at all.

   We arrived in a timely manner for our reservation, but there was no one to greet us. We waited about five minutes, when finally someone came to the host podium and escorted us to a table. There were very few people in the restaurant, perhaps 4 tables and a few more people in the bar. We ordered food and wine. Though the bar was not busy, it took over 10 minutes for the one glass of wine we ordered. At that point, I was concerned that the experience might be a bit of a challenge. However, after ordering, the food came within a reasonable amount of time. Due to a shrimp allergy, we inquired about the clam chowder, which we were assured did not have any shrimp or base with shrimp. Our main courses then arrived. Though the fish (I was offered a taste of all three plates) was overly dry, it was all tasty. We were quite hungry, since we had eaten very little during the day. The waiter was quite chatty, but my companions reciprocated, so I cannot blame him. Though, I will say, that there should be a modicum of social distance between a server and guest in a restaurant. The checks were paid in a timely manner and off we went. With respect to the restaurant: It is overdue for a refresh. The bathroom is quite old, with leakage and questionable equipment. The rest of the interior is old, but classic styling, so one should probably not do to much, lest the classic nature be disturbed. There is a wide selection of different fish--probably the reason that the preparation was so dry. Frozen fish should be discouraged in restaurant food.

   Food and service were great. I recommend the wedge salad and the Chilean sea bass.

    This place is a gem. Always visit when in long beach. Great food and service always. We always have the trout almondine. Great drinks too. Fish is fresh and delish!
