Established in 1999, King’s Fish House is Calabasas’ choice for seafood. Located at The Commons off Calabasas Rd., King’s Fish House features a large selection of oysters, seasonal catches, sushi and live shellfish, including lobster and crab, on a menu that changes daily.

We’ve been in restaurants a little while – three generations, to be precise. A long time ago, we embarked on a road trip in search of the ultimate seafood experience. We traveled down highways and byways, pulled up a seat, put on bibs and soaked up the seafood experience: the no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable.

Welcome to the House that Seafood Built.

Come gather with us, celebrate, relax and enjoy a seafood dining experience of high quality, comfort, service and value.

Service - Two us ordered the same martini; one was noticeably more full than the other. Also, main course came while we were still eating our salads. Timing was not great. Food - Most was excellent but one of us had cioppino. Rather than being in a broth as cioppino usually is and as described, it was really just a sauce. Further, it was very difficult to deal with the shellfish. None of the shells were cracked to make the extraction easier and even the shrimp was fully encased, which required removal using hands. Much more difficult than typical these days when shellfish is served. The person who ordered this said she would never order it again here.

Overall, my guests enjoyed their meal more than I did. One had the maui maui, the other linguini and clams. I had the beer batter fish & chips. While the batter was crunchy the fish was mushy. My coleslaw didn’t have much flavor and while my garlic spinach was fresh and tender, it lacked flavor. There seems to be a lack of consistency in the food. When I was there in July, everything was flavorful.

Was looking forward to trying this place and had high hopes. I ordered the blackened mahi-mahi sandwich protein style with fries. The fish was about 1 1/2- 2 inches square at best. Tasty but teeny. The fries were only half full and pale white in color. Very disappointed.

It’s always a good experience. He really makes me happy that they employ older people. Everyone’s always willing to pitch in and how we sat outside. It was wonderful.

Overall experience was great. I gave 3 star review on the food as I thought the Fish on my order (kings platter combo) needed a touch more flavor. But overall, everything was pleasant.

We had a delightful dinner last night at Kings Fish House. We ordered the oysters on the half shell and they were excellent! Ice cold fresh so perfect. I had the sands for dinner and they were excellent. My first time trying them. A lightly fried light fish, with the mashed potatoes and steam spinach. My friend tried the tacos for the first time and he was very impressed. Overall, a great dinner and evening.

Great place to go for a big family meal. The kids offerings are such high quality compared to anywhere else. The bread is a classic and delicious. Wedge salad was huge! The key lime pie was amazing. The jumbo shrimp plate was cooked perfect and seasoned appropriately.
