Um, I lived for over 25 years in Newberg, saw The Allison/Jory built, and have enjoyed their restaurant over the years by ordering from the entree menu. They have changed their game. Apparently, the chef got a brand new kitchen in January 2025 and their tasting menu is Pacific Northwest-themed. My wife and I enjoyed our own selections from each of four courses so we could try most of everything. My wife is a total foodie. To put it shortly, the tastes were exquisite and presentations were works of art. Out of the menu selections, we liked best: Ocean Experience, Black Cod, and Venison Loin. They were able to work with our gluten free, dairy free, and non-alcoholic preferences. Even though we didn't select the more expensive menu options, the waiter still treated us like valued guests. (To be fair, this is still an expensive restaurant which would beyond the reach of many people, but the value of the experience makes it worth what you spend, if you can swing it.) Because of the world we live in, it is important to mention that we are a lesbian couple and no service staff batted an eye at that. Queer safe venue. Overall, I was positively stunned by the elevation of the Jory experience and would love to visit again for really special occasions. We agreed that Michelin should be on their doorstep as soon as they can. Well done!

The experience was unlike anything I’ve had with dining before. Definitely the fanciest place I’ve been to and they hold themselves and their workers to a high standard. The food however was just ok. Looked fancy but the taste wasn’t worth the price at the end. Black cod I ate was over salted and then my Wagyu steak tasted exactly like a jimmy dean breakfast sausage. The servers were amazing and explained every dish and were overall very pleasant. The cocktails and wine we got were really good too. The food just dragged it down and it seemed the image of the food mattered more than the taste which was sad to see. Overall not a bad experience, just wish the food was better.

Food is always consistent and wonderful! Best brunch ever. Unfortunately, we always have to wait for our table despite reservations and service continues to be slow. The restaurant interior could use an update... fresh upholstery for the banquets would make a big difference.

The new tasting menu at the Jory is awesome. Each course was incredibly thoughtful and well executed. Go for the wine pairings - they are a fun mix of local and international wines, with some fun pairings in there you wouldn't expect. Service was friendly and attentive. The Black Cod and Pork Tasting dishes were our favorites. Add the Jory to your list for your next special occasion meal.

The food is great at Jory. It has recently changed to a 4, 5 or 7 course meal. The food they serve is is excellent, however, they should also have an Ala carte menu like they used to have. Otherwise people will get tired and won’t go back. Do the people in the bar area have a different menu? And for lunch, is it also a coursed meal? I forgot to ask?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Carol! We’re delighted you enjoyed the new dinner tasting menu at JORY. It’s been an exciting period of evolution, creating dining experiences that suit everything from an intimate date night to a celebratory milestone. And, yes! For those looking for more flexibility, we’re pleased to offer an a la carte menu in The Living Room of the Valley, adjacent to JORY’s main dining area. The Living Room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner a la carte style, and the menu is available in the bar and lounge, The Living Room, on the outdoor terrace, and at the Chef’s Counter overlooking the kitchen. (Here, guests can actually choose from either menu!) Thank you again for the question. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back soon!

We had the best NYE lunch at Jory. The food and drinks were perfect. The wagyu and the burger are not to be missed. AND…our server, Whitney made the whole day. She was knowledgeable, funny, and it is clear she genuinely likes her job. Happy 2025! We will see you when you reopen!
