                                  The menu for Christmas brunch was unrelievably rich so the few choices were difficult for some of our party. One of the entrees, the pasta, was a bit oily. The service was excellent and the Christmas decor was lovely.

                                  The Christmas Eve special event dinner was very good. The food was creative and they were very helpful dealing with a dairy intolerance issue. It was a it pricey, but worth it.

                                  We have eaten at John Ash numerous times and celebrated many birthdays, anniversaries, Thanksgivings and have always had good, if not delicious meals. That was not the case tonite. The food was less than mediocre and the price for what we got was not good value. Hopefully, it was a one off experience or we are going to have to stop going there.

                                  It was a perfect dinner. We sat “outside” covered and heated while it was pouring rain. We were warm and cozy. Service was wonderful and food was delicious. Freshest oysters I’ve ever had. My husband and I shared our entrees and both dishes were spectacular. I would totally recommend this place.

Food portions were insufficient.( I had halibut, small piece, came with gnocchi, there were 6 small pieces placed in the small seafood shells ). Crème brûlée for dessert was delicious. Service was good. Food is extremely overpriced, for what you get. Seems the restaurant changes their menu frequently. It was a pricey meal. Make sure you check your receipt for the back of the house charge, mine was $10. These kind of nonsense charges are getting out of hand. I have been to this restaurant over the years and always had a nice experience. Don’t let my experience deter you from going there. It’s definitely worth a try.

                                  My friend and I had a fabulous evening overall. The only negatives were that they do not have anchovies for the Cesar salad (only in the dressing which was excellent, but we like anchovies on top also and the server said they don't have any to spare) oh and they were out of chocolate gelato. Minor inconvenience. Looking forward to going back. Very nice ambiance. Server was delightful..

                                  John Ash has been our go-to restaurant for special occasions. The service is excellent and the food is high quality; however, recently we have noticed significant changes in value that have given us pause, that is, smaller portions and higher prices. The wine list is exceptional but why are prices so high in the middle of wine country where there is an abundance of good wines? The ambience is wonderful, food is excellent, service is great, but as value declines so will our attendance.
