   After making reservations. I received a text 3 days before and the same day reminding me of my time and reservations. Arriving on time 1:20 only to not be seated until 2:15 what the HECK. I felt the hostess was being selective in who she said in the main dining area. I was not happy at all. I saw parties of two that arrived after my arrival being set in the main dining room at four tops and tables for two or two people at a table that you could see for yes there was only two of us. I was just unhappy to spend that kind of money, the view is the only thing the money was worth

   We had a reservation for 1:30pm for their Sunday Brunch to and waited for 45 minutes, watching party after party that came in after us get seated. When we spoke to the host, she offered no reason. After we got seated, we went to the brunch buffet and had to choose from food that was dried out, unappealing and was literally the scrapes of what had been left after the first few waves of people had gone through it. I go to Joe Muer for my birthday, anniversary, family birthdays and sporadically throughout the year. This was what I always called my favorite restaurant in Detroit but this experience was extremely disappointing. We were never once greeted by a manager (this is a usual occurrence here) and you could tell there was no control over quality. This was supposed to be a 50th birthday celebration for my husband…how truly disappointing.

   This Brunch hosted by Chuck Bennett is absolutely incredible. The atmosphere, food and entertainment is amazing. If you haven’t experienced it before be ready to have your mind blown away!!!

   The overall experience was wonderful. Great food, freat music, and great sevice. They sat us in a booth with view of the dtroit river. Only one thing was an issue. We had reservations at 10 am for brunch, and other people did as well, but the doors for the restaurant didn't open till 10:15am. They saw us all standing there and didn't let us in. Wonder why they even allowed reservations for 10am if they won't even open the doors on time.

   Had an embarrassing experience with my waitress on two occasions during my visit that still had my husband and I in an uncomfortable position. I will calling the restaurant and writing a girls complaint on my dining experience!

   We are longtime fans of the Joe Muer's experience, dating back to the original restaurant. This current version in the renaissance center surpasses the original experiences because of the view of the Detroit River. On this occasion, we ordered two signature dishes: my wife had the Dover Sole and I had the Sea Bass. Both were excellent but I wanted to highlight the Sea Bass. This a difficult fish to cook properly in a commercial setting (it tends to get over-cooked) and they got it right. It melted in my mouth!

   We love this restaurant and come here for special occasions and are never disappointed. Everything is always perfect from the hostess desk to the dessert. While being pricey, it is worth it with the excellent food, alcohol and service. We always get excited when we get to go here.

   Food is always spot on. Great place for seafood. The swordfish is solid. The small quesadilla and large shrimp are a great extra touch to the plate. Special of the day Grouper was very good, as good as any in Florida.

   Overall, the experience was good, but my Branzino was overcooked and dry inside. Usually, the fish inside should be flaky and not stick together.
