The shouldn’t call it arrachera steak, it was very hard and chewy. My husband was disappointed. The carnitas was okay, a bit dry. Very nice place but the food was pricey for the quality and quantity.

Wasn’t worth the wait,…club like atmosphere. I would really like to hear my husband talk at dinner and you can’t. There needs to be a dress code inforced asap! Lots of trashy dressed women. Are we at a strip club or are we at a fine dining Oceanside restaurant?

Excellent food and service. Wonderful ambiance but very loud there. Lots of people on a Friday. Drinks are good but a little expensive. Great place for large groups. The guacamole is the best we’ve ever had. Fajitas are well prepared but you need to ask for sour cream if you like that with it. (1 dollar more). Taquitos are delicious but filling. This is a place we go to every year when we are down here. My sister in another state gets jealous when I tell her we are going to Javier’s.

The service was a mess and all over the place. It seemed like there were so many people working, but no one really knew what was going on. The food is mid. The ambiance and people watching is great.

I really wanted to love this place. I had heard so much about it and was excited to finally get the chance to visit. I snagged a reservation, which was two months out due to no availability, so when it finally arrived I was ready. Now, I will preface this by saying my reservation was on a Friday night at 7:30, so maybe lunch or weekday’s are more my speed. In the end, I was honestly disappointed overall. Ambiance: While beautiful, it’s extremely loud. The stark, cold concrete and flooring used in the decor creates an echo chamber and paired with the loud music, 500 speakers and even louder drunk people talking, it’s almost impossible to have a conversation over the roar. Some softer decor to help absorb some of the sound would be nice. Tables: there were far too many tables in one space. This creates obstructions when attempting to walk through the restaurant. I did several dances with wait staff just to trying to go to the bathroom. Chairs are pushed out, people standing, no room to walk. I honestly don’t see how it passes fire code. Also, the lighting choices are interesting. We sat at a 2 top, squeezed in next to a giant concrete pillar, which had a light imbedded in the floor to illuminate said pillar. The only problem with that is it literally shines in your face once you’re seated. I covered my side with my purse and my hubby with a sugar packet until wait staff saw him and used a napkin instead. Clearly, we’re not the first people to attempt to make modifications to their lighting. Parking: they do offer a $10 valet option, but I have no problem parking my own car. The problem is the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant is blocked for valet, or PACKED with cars from all the other restaurants in the center. It’s also a huge lot, so you could essentially be walking an entire block or more if you don’t snag a space close by. Food was good. Staff was great but I’m not sure that’s enough to warrant another visit.
