   Javier’s has been my favorite Mexican food since his restaurant was located in Laguna Beach. I live in Texas with great Mexican food, but none other compares to the freshness and perfection of Javier’s! It’s the first restaurant I stop at and usually the last I go to when traveling to Southern California. I never thought I would give it 4 stars instead of 5. Still delicious, but the ambience of the remodel was loud and stark compared to the warm cozy atmosphere that was once one of the most uniquely beautiful places to dine. I understand they needed a bigger space, but I felt the lighting was more like being in an operating room. The music at lunchtime was extremely loud and clanging! I turn whoever I’m traveling with on to Javier’s, and this is the first time I was disappointed. I’m sure it may feel different at night. Waitstaff and food are still fantastic!

   Toooooo LOUD, overly crowded. Also doesn’t matter if you make reservations way, way in advance because they stuck us at the bar! Keep in mind also that even though you do make reservations, you seriously don’t have to because I literally saw a couple stand by the bar and even though a bouncer told them they couldn’t sit there and had to wait upfront, this couple gave him a hard time and asked to speak to a manager. The manager literally allowed them to sit there. Mind you there was a women who wanted to order a drink, only, and was told to leave which she did, but why, tell me why, this couple got away with it??? Again, after making reservations a month in advance and had to wait upfront to be seated and to get seated at the bar and not a table was very upsetting. We we were celebrating our 30th anniversary and this was supposed to be a memorable one. Well it wasn’t!!! Very disappointed and will never go here again!!! Good Luck to those who decide to go to this restaurant!

   Food and service was outstanding ! We had the asada salad and I had the asada fajitas! Wife and I love the Crystal Cove location. Great romantic lunch. 🔥❤️💙💜💗

   Our experience this past Sunday at Javier ‘s in Newport was extra extraordinary… from the moment we were welcomed and seated our amazing server Olivia did everything to ensure our party was completely catered to and taken care of. Olivia‘s warm embrace and joyful smile attention to detail made us feel right at home! Having the pleasure to also meet Aracely that day one of the managers on site topped off our day as she was friendly, kind and attentive, and took the time to show us seating options for bigger parties for future dinners at *Javier‘s . We had a huge board  that we got to share amongst four of us it included three choices of protein, which were all delicious lobster, steak and chicken. It included rice and beans that taste as if they were homemade… Guacamole, salsa, and we even splurged on having tortillas that day! Our favorite was the seafood pasta. It was impeccable as where our dessert drinks…. Carajilllos ! The restaurant is beautiful, clean, and everybody shared a smile! The view of the Pacific Ocean is just a cherry on top. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommended for brunch or a sunset. Dinner Thank you, Araceli and thank you Olivia for making our experience a memorable one !

   The food was fantastic other than I made the mistake ordered mashed potatoes in a Mexican restaurant which came out lukewarm. The noise level was off the chart" means the sound was extremely loud, exceeding the normal range of measurable decibel levels, essentially indicating a deafening or unbearable amount of noise. I could not have a Conversation with my husband. It was more of a night club than Restaurant. I thought the server was lacking Personality. We spent over $500.00 over all on dinner and parking. Would I do it again? NO WAY!!

    The only downside was not being able to select outside seating while having so many things asked of us including a 20% gratuity and 2 hour limit
